Jelly Jar Chronicles

Welcome to the “Jelly Jar Chronicles” I’m delighted to have you here as we embark on a journey through the remarkable tapestry of family stories, wisdom and sweet memories. My name is James McCullough and I am the founder and storyteller behind this captivating blog.

This is the part where I’m supposed to tell you a little bit about myself (just a little). This journey stated on September 25, 1961, on Loing Island, New York at St. Joesph’s Episcopal Hospital. It was Monday morning at 6am. I was told Iwas easy birth and my eyes were wide open and crying.

I’m a product of the Lawrence- Cedarhurst school District from preschool through graduation. Class of 1980. 42 years ago (I look 35). Top notch education and friendships that are 40+ years. The majority still keeps in contact. I attended PS #4, PS#1, Lawrence Jr. High School, and Lawrence High School. There are 6 elementary schools in the district PS#2, PS#3, PS#5, and PS#6. I did attend college and joined the Army. In keeping with the purpose of this blog I will come back to this section . I truly believe that if it weren’t for my grandmother’s teachings and her wisdom that has kept me somewhat sane.

FAMILY

My clan, my people, my tribe, my family were the Watson’s, Cross, Moss, Moore, Whtifield, McCullough, Drinks, and Coleman. You might be asking yourself why “Jelly Jar chronicles” and why now. Good questions. If you would go to WWW.applejellyforthesoul.com. That site will give you a little more about James. So, with that being said there are three ladies in my life that has poured in me Wisdom, Faith, and Hope. My grandmother, my mom, and my sister. I want the world to know how amazing these were. I don’t life was fair to them but none the less there was love and discipline. One of the dumbest things I ever said was ” I can’t wait to get grown and leave this house”. My mother turned around with that smile only a mother could give and said “baby you’ll want to come back” She was right.

I have Great-Great grand nieces and nephews and they have no Idea who their Great Great- Grandmother was, ah they have heard the name mentioned, I believe they need to know the importance of being present for all the family get together the narratives are charging so rapidly. It’s vital that we educate the next generation with the truth.
